A tablet that won't turn on is usually a board fault, not a dead tablet.
Tablets are built as sealed units — the battery is glued in, the screen is bonded to the glass, and the charging port is soldered directly to the logic board. That construction is exactly why most shops quote a replacement: they can only swap whole assemblies, and on a tablet there aren't many to swap.
A charging port that has worn loose, a power-management chip that has failed, or corrosion after a spill are all component-level repairs. We do that work under a microscope, which is the difference between a repair and a £400 replacement.

We repair tablets. We don't repair phone hardware.
Plenty of shops take a phone in, keep it a week and hand it back untouched. We'd rather be straight with you: we do not replace phone screens, phone batteries or phone charging ports.
What we can do on a phone is the software — iOS and Android installs and recovery, a handset stuck on the logo, or moving everything across to a new one. And on tablets and iPads, the full job, hardware included.
